With 173 beds, we proudly offer patient-focused care to the community we serve. \n\n The Medical Acute Unit at Scripps Mercy Chula Vista is currently a 34-bed combined unit with M/S, Tele and PCU patients. Patient population includes stroke, cardiac, S/P coronary angiography patients, and critical drip protocols patients. The unit focuses on patients that need continuous cardiac monitoring for myocardial infraction, chest pain, unstable angina, hypertension, percutaneous coronary intervention, diabetes, and renal failure. \n\n Join the Medical Acute Unit as an RN and you will be trained to care for higher level of acuity through our Center for Learning and Innovation. The step-up training program will prepare you to rotate between patients in two levels of care: step-down and med/surg/tele. You must be comfortable working with COVID positive patients as well as using cardiac rhythm interpretation, cardiac drips, and respiratory support. The ideal candidate will have a minimum 12 months of RN experience with 6 months in an inpatient setting such as SNF, LTAC or Acute Care. \n\n As a RN, you will provide direct patient care within the scope of your practice. Patient care includes assessment, planning, and implementing a plan of care and evaluating patients' progress towards expected outcomes. You will take primary responsibility for the patients' care as delivered by the Care Team under his/her supervision and work collaboratively with other members of the patient care team to ensure optimal patient care. \n\n This is a full-time, 12-hour Night shift position located at Scripps Mercy Chula Vista. \n\n New Hire and Relocation Incentive eligible. Ask your Talent Advisor for details. \n\n The following are not eligible for hiring incentives: \n\n \n\t Internal candidates \n\t Rehires that left Scripps less than 3 years ago \n \n\n In order to remain eligible for your retention incentive the following criteria must be met: \n\n \n\t Must remain in original hired FTE Status and Shift (if specified in offer letter) \n\t Must remain in original department/specialty \n\t Must remain in original Job Title \n\t Transfers to other locations will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and may result in forfeiting remaining incentive bonus unless specifically noted in your offer letter. \n \n Required Qualifications: \n\n \n\t Registered nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing. \n\t Current CA RN License \n\t Current BLS through American Heart Association \n\t One (1) year of recent RN experience \n\t Excellent interpersonal skills. \n\t Must be able to demonstrate positive behaviors. \n \n\n Preferred Qualifications: \n\n \n\t 6 months of experience in Acute Care Medical Surgical/Telemetry/ LTAC/SNF/Post-Acute RN \n\t NIHSS certification or ability to obtain within 30 days from hire \n\t ACLS certification \n \n Scripps Health is an equal opportunity employer.
