Job Summary: The Senior Staff Accountant will support the Accounting Department with overseeing GAAP duties, ad hoc reporting and analysis, preparation for audits, and other projects and duties as assigned.Duties & Responsibilities:Financial Reporting and Analysis

• Oversee day to day accounting activities.
• Perform analysis, budgeting and forecasting.
• Prepare monthly departmental and management team reports.
• Prepare year-end audit and tax workpapers and reports.
• Provide ad hoc analysis as needed.General & Subsidiary Ledger Closing
  • Perform monthly cutoff procedures to facilitate timely and accurate accounting and financial reporting.
  • Review general ledger reports for proper coding and cutoff.
  • Prepare and post journal entries.
  • Compile monthly closing electronic binders by performing reconciliations, adjustments, analysis, and documentation.
  • Assist with accounting process improvements and documentation of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.Education/Experience Requirements:
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred
    • Banking accounting experience preferred
    • 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience
    • Solid grasp of fundamental accounting principles
    • Positive attitude, strong work ethic and professional demeanor
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven work environment
    • Ability to adapt to changing business requirements
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Ability to manage expectations of the team
    • Excellent communication and analytical skills
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
    • Proficiency using 10-key by touchPreferred Qualifications:
      • Banking or similar industry experience
      • Experience with budgeting and forecasting
