Homelessness is the largest social and public health crisis in
California. Illumination Health Home is a growing non-profit
organization dedicated towards disrupting the cycle of homelessness
by providing targeted, interdisciplinary services in our
recuperative care centers, emergency shelters, housing services and
children's and family programs. IF currently has 13 facilities with
22 micro-communities scattered across Orange County, Los Angeles
County and the Inland Empire. Role The Grant Accountant’s primary
responsibility is to monitor and record all grant and donation
activities for a non-profit organization. This position will be the
primary contact for all inquiries and compliance related to grants.
This includes audits, completing SEFA reporting, and managing the
Single Audit. Additional duties will also include day-to-day
accounting (such as journal entries, account reconciliations),
maintaining the organization’s accounting system, preparing monthly
billing, and completion of account and analytical tasks with a
clear understanding and knowledge of financial report preparation.
The schedule for this position is Monday - Friday, 8:30am to
5:00pm. Responsibilities Manage all grant and donation reporting
for the organization. Maintain specific general ledger accounts in
full compliance with GAAP including preparation of journal entries.
Analyze financial information in response to inquiries from
managers, vendors, and employees. Manage reconciliation of specific
balance sheet accounts. Assist with preparation of annual tax
returns and audit requests with external CPA firm. Monitor
financial administration of contracts to ensure that proper
documentation is submitted for expenditures. Provide a level of
leadership in strengthening internal communications with staff at
all levels throughout the organization, create and promote a
positive and supportive work environment. This position is onsite.
No remote or hybrid option at this time. Preferred Experience/
Minimum Qualifications Required: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or
finance. 3-5 years of experience in a similar role. Ability to
calculate and compile data using spreadsheets or other software to
generate reports. Strong knowledge of GAAP and general accounting.
Experience with QuickBooks Desktop, Net Suite, or comparable ERP
systems. Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite, including
strong Excel skills Solid experience with managing external and
internal audit requests and understanding of the full cycle
accounting process. Preferred: Experience with non-profits
specifically with government reporting and accounting. Cost
accounting experience a plus Proficiency in Google Suite (Mail,
Docs, Sheets, Calendar). Benefits Medical Insurance funded by
