Transdev North America is the largest private sector operator of
multiple modes of transit in North America, providing bus, rail,

life and combat global warming.The Communication Manager uses a GPS
CAD/AVL system to proactively manage the day-to-day on the road
operations of transit service delivered by Transdev. The
Communication Manager provides verbal direction to RTMS Radio
Dispatchers. Proactively intervenes, using all available resources,
to ensure that the safest high-quality service is provided.
Collaborates with the local Transdev operating divisions and the
Client regarding service interruptions, on time performance issues,
Standby Bus Usage, detours, bus stop concerns, lost & found items,
service capacity and other needs such as; Bus Bridges, Documents in
various data base systems, including accurate information in Trans
Track information on service incidents including; accidents,
medical/first responder, mechanical defects/road calls, full &
passing events, etc. Works with MTS Code Compliance and local law
enforcement services as needed to maintain a safe and comfortable
environment for passengers.ResponsibilitiesProactively engaged in
directly managing service quality and reliability.Supervises RTMS
Radio Dispatchers to ensure operators are in compliance with
company policies.Writes preliminary notices of action for
disciplinary purposes and reviews with immediate manager.Provides
information and input in work evaluations and staffing and
selection decisions.Designs and delivers on the job (OTJ) training
for Radio Dispatchers and Bus Operators.Assists subordinates with
routing problems, operational disruptions, or any other assistance
as necessary to provide safe and courteous operation of
Metropolitan Transit SystemContinuously reviews system performance
display monitors and communicates with drivers that are off
schedule, off route, late starting trips or off headway.Uses
standby Buses and other resources to alleviate headway bunching,
over capacity, potential lost service due to mechanical failure or
service incidents.Manages and coordinates responses to service
incidents in conjunction with RTMS Radio Dispatchers.Documents all
incidents and its response in the daily incident logging software
as needed and manages incident until succesful completion.First
level supervision for RTMS Radio DispatchersDocuments exceptional
positive behaviorProactively nominates drivers for retraining when
needed.Ensure that California IWC Wage Order 9 rules are met.Other
duties as required.QualificationsEducation, Licensing, and
Certifications :High School Diploma or GEDValid California CDL with
appropriate endorsements required.Experience Preferred:Relevant
experience in the transit industry, with two-way radio and/or
dispatch experience required,Road Supervisor and/or Radio
Dispatcher experience is preferred.Skills and Knowledge
Required:Must be able to work collaboratively with peers, while
processing multiple tasks simultaneously, under stressful
situations and bring each task to a successful
completion.Experience in using PC workstation computers, text
typing efficiently and accurately, data entry in databases and
forms required, have ability to enter data quickly, and
accurately.Must demonstrate the ability to promptly analyze service
problems and then execute effective solutions.Ability to document
service incidents and responses in a logical manner using proper
English grammar, word choice and spelling.Must be able to verbally
communicate with clear and precise speech, over-the-air
instructions in a busy call-center environment.Knowledge of or an
ability to learn service area's geographical features, route
systems and numbering, operating entity, schedule information and
timetables, the general traffic flow of commute patterns.Knowledge
of or ability to learn the general nature of mechanical systems of
various types of transit buses used, and to mentor Drivers over the
air on the use of these systems.Must be able to read and comprehend
at a level required to know terms and conditions of Collective
Bargaining Agreements, Transdev and Client's policies and
procedures, Handbook. Manuals, printed schedules.Pre-Employment
