RegularGDIT is hiring a Physical Therapist to support a clinical
research program for the Traumatic Brain Injury Center of
Excellence (TBICoE) located at Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton,
CA.The Physical Therapist will provide assessment and treatment
through a randomized clinical trial exploring novel clinical
interventions for rehabilitation of warfighters who have had a mild
traumatic brain injury (mTBI).The position is full-time, 40 hours a
week, Monday through Friday. Overtime is not authorized. Must be a
U.S. citizen and obtain appropriate security clearance. Must have
relevant professional licensures and experience.Position
Summary:Serves as a licensed Physical Therapist (PT) providing
interdisciplinary evaluation and treatment planning for military
personnel with mTBI and psychological health issues. The primary
purpose of this position is to conduct physical and neuromuscular
examinations, assess functional capabilities, as well as devise and
execute a prescribed physical exercise treatment plan according to
research protocols. The PT is an integral and critical clinical
research member of a larger multidisciplinary team.What You'll Be
Doing:Perform neuromusculoskeletal and vestibular screening
evaluations, and devises or modifies treatment plans as detailed by
research study procedures in coordination with an interdisciplinary
team.Assist with physiological evaluations to assess
cerebrovascular and cardiovascular functioning related to combat
fitness.Provides services that help restore function, improve
mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent physical
disabilities of Military personnel suffering from combat and
non-combat related injuries.Handle problems and deviations and has
the latitude to modify/expand the examination based on existing
protocols.Contribute to the oversight and education of team members
responsible for treating Military personnel with functional
impairment, ensuring that the highest standards of professional
practice and ethics are maintained.Coordinate with the study
Principal Investigator to discuss matters pertaining to
prioritization of projects and equipment, clinic policies, and any
phase of the clinical service program connected to TBI or PH
evaluation, research and treatment planning.Review and analyze work
methods and operational procedures within Physical Therapy service
specialties and recommend improvement strategies based upon new and
continuing research initiatives.Establish an interdisciplinary role
in research development and coordination.Apply the principles,
theories, and practices of physical therapy, kinesiology and
biomechanics to facilitate the design methodologically sound
studies and support dissemination.Develop a comprehensive plan of
action for developing and supporting clinical research efforts
within the scope of the TBICOE mission.Review, evaluate, and
develop recommendations concerning the research operations,
including policies and programs designed to improve program
effectiveness.Maintain research records and data entry in
compliance with related regulations.Other duties consistent with
the above responsibilities.What You'll Need (required):Master's
degree in Physical Therapy, Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT),
preferred.1+ year experience as a Licensed Physical Therapist.1+
year in a clinical or hospital environment as a Physical
Therapist.Must have and maintain a current license to practice in
any one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico,
Guam or the U.S. Virgin Islands, or any US territory that allows
for the independent practice of clinical services. This license
must be current and unrestricted (not subject to restriction
pertaining to the scope, location, or type of practice ordinarily
granted to other applicants for similar licenses in granting
jurisdiction) that allows for the independent practice of clinical
services as a Physical Therapist.Must possess and maintain current
course completion documentation for basic life support (BLS)
through an American Heart Association and/or Red Cross approved
training program.Must maintain Continuing Education credit
sufficient to maintain both their clinical license and to meet
Military Treatment Facilities specific Quality Assurance standards
for credentialing. (The Government will not pay for the continuing
education.)US Citizenship with the ability to obtain a secret
security clearance.What Would Be Even Better (preferred):Experience
with the diagnosis and evaluation of injuries in military service
members is preferred.Experience in carrying out treatments that aim
to enhance the fitness and well-being of the individual through
exercise programming and/or interest with sports performance is
preferred.Prior involvement in clinical research with humans is
preferred.Skills & Attributes for Success:Excellent oral and
written communications skills required.Must have the specialty
knowledge to perform required taskings.S/he must adhere to legal,
professional and ethical codes with respect to confidentiality and
privacy.Other Requirements:Must be able to sit and stand for long
periods of time.Must be able to carry light items - up to 25
lbs.May encounter patients who are confused, agitated, or

likely salary range for this position is $81,253 - $121,879, this
is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary; rather,
salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and
possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this
