Director of Church Operations (First UMC of Chula Vista)
Director of Church Operations (First UMC of Chula Vista) This is
first a foremost a Ministry Director position in a Christian
church. A successful candidate will have a vibrant faith, grounded
in a progressive Christian tradition, and be prepared to be a faith
leader within the administrative operations of the church.
As the Director of Church Operations, you will oversee all
operations of the church, assuring that regulations are followed,
best practices are utilized and efficiencies are gained. The goal
is to provide healthy financial and physical (campus) foundations
in which all ministries of the church are grounded.
You will manage staff, oversee long term contracts, serve as the
benefits coordinator, serve as staff liaison to multiple ministry
teams and serve as the primary teacher and communicator regarding
principles of Christian Stewardship in order to sustain the
financial income of the church. In addition, there will be
financial management tasks such as bookkeeping, accounting and
financial reporting as necessary parts of the job.
The California-Pacific Conference is a regional body of The
United Methodist Church , made up of some 50,000 members in almost
350 local churches throughout Southern California, parts of Central
California, Hawaii, the Pacific Islands, Guam and Saipan.
The Conference is led by Resident Bishop Grant J. Hagiya.
The Office of the Resident Bishop, known as the Episcopal
Office, as well as the offices of Conference Staff is located at
the California-Pacific Conference center.
