The mission of the Mexican American Opportunity Foundation
(MAOF) is to provide for the socio-economic betterment of the
greater Latino community of California, while preserving the pride,

Non-Exempt, HourlyGeneral Purpose: To maintain the Child Care and
Development Program 's facilities, offices, grounds, equipment, and
storage rooms in good repair, orderly, and
clean.Responsibilities:Under the general guidance of the Center
Supervisor, Lead Custodian and or designee, following established
MAOF procedures, utilizes and devises methods and procedures to
insure the proper care and maintenance of the MAOF Child Care and
Development Program 's facilities and equipment. As appropriate,
sweeps, mops, vacuums, and waxes all center and office floors on a
regular basis maintaining a clean and neat appearance. As
necessary, sweeps and cleans utility rooms, storage rooms, garages,
and outdoor play areas. Waters outdoor plants and play areas. Daily
cleans and disinfects bathrooms and maintains paper supplies.
Empties waste baskets daily. Washes windows and hand marks from
walls and doors. Loads and unloads deliveries of food, supplies and
equipment. Arranges storage areas and is responsible for the
rotation of food stuffs to insure that the earliest purchased food
is used first. Sets-up equipment. Makes minor repairs to equipment.
Makes minor indoor and outdoor repairs. Performs minor building and
plumbing (faucet washers etc.). Ensures that center doors and gates
are securely locked at the end of the day and when leaving before
or after opening or closing hours. Completes Health and Safety
checklists of centers assigned and reportsnecessary repairs to Site
Supervisor. In a timely manner, submits requests for janitorial
equipment and supplies to the Center Director. Maintains neat
personal appearance. Maintains neat personal appearance. Regular
attendance. As assigned attends trainings and meetings. As
assigned, carries out any other activities necessary for the proper
implementation of MAOF's Child Care and Development
Program.Requirements: Must have negative tuberculin test or X-rays.
Must provide vaccination records for influenza, pertussis, and
measles at thetime of employment, annual requirement thereafter.
Physical and mental fitness to engage in custodial work. Must be
fingerprinted (state law). Must possess LiveScan fingerprint
clearance at all times during employment. Revoked fingerprint
clearance number will lead to immediate removal from the site and
termination of employment. Must provide vaccination records for
influenza, pertussis and measles at the time ofemployment, annual
requirement thereafter. Must have transportation, California Driver
License and required Car Insurance. GED or High School Diploma.
Spanish/English preferred.Use of Equipment and VehiclesEquipment
and vehicle essential in accomplishing job duties are expensive and
may be difficult to replace. When using property, employees are
expected to exercise care, perform requires maintenance, and follow
all operating instructions, safety standards, and guidelines.Please
notify the supervisor if any equipment, machines, tools, or
vehicles appear to be damaged, defective, or in need of repair.
Prompt reporting of damages, defects, and the need for repairs
could prevent deterioration of equipment and possible injury to
employees or others. The supervisors can answer any questions about
an employee's responsibility for maintenance and care of equipment
or vehicle used on the job.The improper, careless, negligent,
destructive, or unsafe use or operations of equipment or vehicles,
as well as excessive or avoidable traffic and parking violations,
can result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination
of employmentPhysical Demands:The physical demands described here
are representatives of those that must be met by an employee to
successfully perform the essential functions of this job.While
performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly
required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear.
The employee occasionally is required to sit and reach with hands
and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk.
The employee may lift and/or move up to 40 - 50 pounds. Specific
vision abilities required by this job include close vision,
peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.Work Environment:The
