Job Description:
Bristol Bay Construction Holdings LLC (BBCH) is growing! We are
seeking a motivated, results-driven Construction Estimator with a
strong focus on the Mechanical trade to join our SES Technologies
(STL) team a subsidiary of BBCH. The candidate must possess the
ability to manage a dynamic project bid list and collaborate
closely with the executive and marketing teams to develop winning
proposals for projects nationwide.
To be successful in this position you must be intimately familiar
with electrical systems and possess excellent knowledge of the
general building systems across all divisions.
This position will lead whole-building estimates as well as
developing and provide electrical estimates to other lead
estimators on the team, including calculation of material
quantities, developing routine estimating scope narratives and
scope sheets, communicating with the subcontracting market, and
compiling data for evaluation and use in bid proposal estimates. If

Responsibilities:
--- Communicate estimates and scopes of work to subcontractors,
colleagues, architects, engineers, and clients.
--- Prepare quantity take-offs, analyses, estimates, and studies
for all mechanical and plumbing items incorporated in the assigned
scope from conceptual design through completed construction
documents. Preliminary design work may be required to complete
conceptual estimates.
--- Develop working relationships with local material suppliers and
equipment vendors in order to solicit accurate and current pricing
of plumbing fixtures, HVAC equipment, piping sheet metal material,
distribution equipment, and miscellaneous material pricing.
--- Develop working relationships with local mechanical and
plumbing sub-contractors in order to build and maintain a list of
qualified bidders for all projects.
--- Work together with operations staff and fellow estimators to
ensure that general conditions and general requirements items are
properly addressed in the estimate, including, but not limited to,
items such as temporary heating and cooling.
--- Be adept at communicating the interrelationship between
engineering systems and required architectural modifications.
--- Coordinate equipment pricing with the company logistics for
mechanical and plumbing estimates.
--- Participate in estimate reviews with the design team and
client.
--- Participate in project hand-off to Operations to ensure proper
transfer of knowledge from Preconstruction to Operations.
--- Prepare scope requisitions for the bidding/procurement of
mechanical and plumbing systems; coordinate with fellow estimators
to eliminate scope gaps and overlaps.
--- Lead the evaluation of subcontractor proposals relative to
their scope of work. Determine scope coverage and manage the risk
of scope gaps.
--- Assist project staff in evaluating large change orders.
--- Gather and analyze mechanical and plumbing bid data for all
projects using our system breakdown sheets. Maintain historical
cost database.
Qualifications:
--- Outstanding knowledge of MEP.
--- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
--- Proficient in MS Office Suite.
--- Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents,
drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project
schedules.
--- Ability to prioritize, problem-solve multi-task, and
organize.
--- Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills.
--- As a condition of employment, you may be required to pass a
pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable references and
background check results.
Preferred Qualifications
--- Mechanical/plumbing experience with a general contractor is
preferred.
--- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering plus a minimum of
five years of related experience.
--- Mechanical and plumbing estimating experience or an equivalent
combination of education, training, and/or experience.
Physical Requirements:
Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining the
physical condition necessary for bending, stooping, sitting,
walking, or standing for prolonged periods of time; most of the
time is spent sitting in a comfortable position with frequent
opportunities to move about. Near visual acuity to review
documentation, ability to hear and understand speech at normal room
levels. Must maintain a constant state of mental alertness at all

Working Environment:
Job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer
screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, and
mouse. The work described herein is primarily a modern office
setting.
